1912 Burgess C.W. Smith watches his horse drink from the public drinking fountain. October 12, 1912 the fountain was erected in front of C.R Horting's Tobacco Store on the north east corner of Center Square by the Newport Civic Club. Notice the automatic, sanitary drinking device and place at bottom for small animals to drink.
