Notes written by G. D. Robinson (1849-1918)

"William Robinson married Miss Sara Rosberry of Chester Co. in 1755. About 1756, they with James Mathew Londen were the first settlers in Racoon Valley. The farm now owned by Jas. & John Lesh was entered by my  great grandfather in March 1763"

"They had a hard time until 1763, as they were driven away by Indians several times and their houses burned. Wm. Robinson had a large family. James, William, John, Robert, George, Andrew, Lydia and Howard. In 1777 or 78 my great grandfather Wm. Robinson and his son James enlisted with Lieut. Benjamin Chambers of Chambersburg for the Revolutionary War. The balance of the family went home to Chester Co. for part of the time. They both returned and are in  the old Bull Cemetery near Donally Mills. The remainder of the family scattered far and wide - going West and South."

"My grandfather - George Wm. Robinson was born about 1780: Married Miss Jane McKinzie of Donigal, Lancaster Co., Pa. 1811 and succeded to the old homestead. Of that marriage there was born - Sara A. - Jane R. - Geo. Rosberry, Rosetta M. and my father George Rosberry succeded to the old home stead. Through an accident he was disabled and died 1857 aged 43 years. He was in 1847 married to Elizabeth Ann Devor of Shippensburg Pa. and of that marriage was born Jan.4 1849 Geo. D. Robinson"

"The old farm was sold in 1867 having been in the family 107 years."
