However there were many Boyer families that immigrated from the Palatines,
Germany in the 1700s and settled in this area.

JOHANN PETER BAYER (son of JOHAN PHILIP
BOYER) was born October 29, 1763 in Lebanon Twp, Lebanon, Pennsylvania,
and died April 23, 1842 in Zion Luth. "bric, Enola, Pa. He married ANN MARY
MOULFAIR. They had eleven children. Michael Boyer was their first child, born
1793 in Lebanon, PA. as were all his ten younger siblings. When Michael married
Eva Anna Koons, they moved to Markelville, leaving all his brothers and sisters
behind in Lebanon.
Michael Boyer (1794 -1870) and his wife Eve 1979-1846) are both buried in Markelsville Cemetery. The grave yard tells the story. They had three sons:

Philip Boyer (1824-1888)
Jacob K. Boyer (1827-1890)
About 1842 John P. Boyer married Jane Ann (1819-1870). They had eight children:
1843 Sara Ellen was born.
1851 Melinda was born
1857 An infant daughter was born and died after 48 hours
1859 John was born.
1861 Sara Ellen died in August at the age of 18.
1861 Mary was born in November.
1868 Melinda died at the age of 17.
1870 On December 3, John P., Jane Ann and their surviving children [John and Mary Elizabeth died. Were they killed in a fire? No! Look what Ask Jeeves found...

About 1845 Philip Boyer married Mary Jane. Could Albert M. Boyer been their first child? Their two children, buried with them, are Donald (1849-1917) and Alfarata (1853-1923). Donald and Alfarata were the last of the Boyers in Markelsville
Jacob K. Boyer, the youngest son of Michael Boyer, was born in 1827. He fought in the Civil War 1861-1865 and was a member of the Grand Army of Republic (G.A.R.) After returning from war he married Lydia, who was fifteen years younger than him. Apparently they had no children.
