101 S 2nd Street built by Albert Demaree, a Civil War hero. Demaree operated a shoe business in the Square after the Civil War. S2nd2E2.jpg (42014 bytes) 119 S 2nd Street - 119 & 123 were the Jacob C. Frank Carriage works and Wagon Shop. 119 was the "Shop Building" where carriages were constructed and transferred to the adjoining building, 123 S 2nd, where they were painted and displayed. 127 S 2nd was the home of  Jacob Frank. The carriage making buildings were converted into homes in the 1920s. 123-135 S 2nd Street 141 S 2nd Street this stately brick Victorian home was built in the 1800s as  two homes. The house features three-story bays and a center turret. At the turn of the century, kitchens, baths and Vicorian touches were added. 147 S 2nd Street -iN 1886 James Morrow purchased the land from John Fleisher in 1886 and built the house in the early 1890s Church of Nativity 159 S 2nd Street-The lot was bought from John Fleisher for $800. In fall of 1886 ground was broken. The corner stone was laid for The Church of Nativity on June 8, 1887. The cost of constructing the church, reported to be $9,000, was borne by Henry and Elizabeth Bechtel. The church was consecrated on November 14, 1889.  The building was renovated in 1987 and rededicated. During the renovations, original stenciling was uncovered and a portion remains exposed.
